Yoga Anatomy Immersion
40 HOUR IMMERSION

NOTE: if you cannot make all of these dates, you can still register for the immersion. Recordings of the immersion will be available and emailed to all registrants.
TIME SENSITIVE! ANOTHER NOTE: In order to participate in the immersion, you should purchase some non-drying modeling clay (2 lbs of white clay, and 1lb multicolored clay). We will use this in an exercise to model parts of our anatomy!
MARCH - APRIL 2021
Learn practical and embodied anatomy in this 2 weekend anatomy immersion. We will have a variety of learning modalities including fun lectures, clay modeling, asana and postural analysis. Topics include: anatomy of breathing/pranayama, basic and advanced yoga asana, how internal organs affect postures and breathing, common injuries and disease processes and how to intelligently modify Yoga practices.

introduction to anatomy, organs & systems
breathing: the physiology of breathing, lung organs, the diaphragm, accessory breathing muscles, types of breathing (including common mistakes), diseases (COPD/emphysema, smoking, cystic fibrosis, asthma), pranayama and breathing techniques, breathing in asana,
the central nervous system: dural membranes, CFS, plexi, brain function, sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, sensory and motor function, major nerves (sciatic, femoral, median, ulnar),
the skeleton: the types of bones, the axial skeleton and appendicular, the joints and types of joins, knees, vertebral, hip, glenohumeral/shoulder, ankle, foot, wrist, torso: spinal, abdominal, pelvic floor, hips, legs, feet, chest, shoulder, arms, hands
common injuries: modifications and cautions, shoulder, knee, spine/neck, wrist
asana analysis : comprehensive anatomy of standing/balancing, forward folds, backward bends, twists, inversions
INTERACTIVE CLAY MODELING WORKSHOPS ON: organs, diaphragm, psoas, CNS, ANS, plexi, femur, joints with muscles, rotator cuff, pelvic floor + hip, knee, foot

Rose Erin Vaughan, MSAc, is a Yoga practitioner and teacher, Anatomy specialist, Acupuncturist and Trigger Point Therapist. She holds a Master of Science in Acupuncture, a BS in Biology, published 2 books on the subject of Yoga and Meridians and has led numerous trainings and intensives in Yoga and Acupressure worldwide. She studied Yoga extensively with master Yogi Sri Dharma Mittra. Her other great teachers include Sri Bhagavan Das (Mantra and Bhakti), Geshe Michael Roach and Hector Marcel. Her training in a variety of modalities, techniques, sciences and philosophies has helped her to establish a contemporary and unique approach to Yoga, Physical, Emotional and Spiritual development.
